Howey Bay is officially clear of ice, but for once it doesn't mean ice out! Normally Howey Bay is the last area of ice on Red Lake because the wind pushes the ice into the bay. This year, it's the opposite!
We parked the snow machines for the season last week and now wait for the ice to melt! Now I wouldn't say we are hard on the snow machines, but they definitely get put to work.... so much so that the track blew off mine on our way home!
Spring is here! Well, there's still 26" of ice on Douglas but the birds are back and the snow is melting! The eagles showed up a couple weeks ago, the geese landed last week and the seagulls this weekend!
