We've had a bit of free time this winter and have been going through the portage journals, I'm so glad our guests took the time to write down their experiences! Here's 2 trips down Onnie Creek:
Went back to Onnie! Trip up seemed to be a bit harder. Finally caught the monster. 44" Northern weighing right at 17 pounds. It was all done by trolling for walleye. Released it back for future catches. Cathy Monk
Spent the day at Onnie fishing for Northern. Caught fish all the way up the river in the small weedy bays. Right after a hard rain and just before the storm hit again, we snagged into a 43" Northern. Watching the Northern's lure attack in the shallow bay, we saw him strike and miss the five of diamonds spoon, With the snap of his neck the Northern caught the treble hook in gills and made for an easy catch. After photographs he was released and lived to be caught again.
